Rescue-A-Life Foundation Re-entry Program
Rescue-A-Life Foundation (REAL) is a community base non-profit 501(c) (3). We provide supportive services and housing to the homeless, veterans, formerly incarcerated and intellectual/developmentally disable. The William D. Pugh Home I and II are our housing facilities. The goal of the services offered at the William D. Pugh Homes are to address the immediate needs, temporary housing and reintegration of men and women who are homeless. While providing services to participants, our case managers develop working alliances with employment services and treatment providers throughout the county of Los Angeles to form a service network of resources to assist both residents and participants in our program
Our Mission:
Our mission is to serve men, women and families who come to us for assistance, with compassion and understanding while supporting and promoting self-sufficiency. We believe every person should reside in a safe, nurturing environment, in joining with others to change systems which oppress, discriminate or otherwise cause human suffering, and to work towards affirming and supporting a healthy individual life. We believe the formerly incarcerated, intellectual and developmentally disabled should be able to live in security and dignity. We provide a variety of services supportive resources to needy and disadvantaged people that dignifies each individual while providing the needed tools to help extend independent living and promote physical and mental well being.
Population Served By Program:
Our client base is the formerly incarcerated, needy, disadvantage and veterans particularly those who suffer with addiction or mental illness and may be homeless. Los Angeles County has an overwhelming growth curve in the rate of recidivism and supportive services are in abundant need, yet the current facilities that service a wide range of this target group are not able to meet the demands of this population. Rescue-A-Life fills this gap where the vast majority of these individuals have fallen through the cracks in our society. REAL is a vital resource in our community because we care and can respond quickly with the most important resources this population of individuals need, which is supportive resources, guidance and cost effective housing!
